Switching from forced air to radiant heat is easier than you think and more beneficial than you’d imagine. Radiant heat (where hot water controlled by a boiler runs through tubes stapled to your floor) may initially seem expensive, but it will trim your annual energy bill by 25% to 50% in most cases. And if you are building a new home, don't even hesitate - just do it!
D&J Gyp-Crete® Inc. will arrive after your plumbing contractor installs your heating tubes. We will cover your tubes with Gyp-Crete® underlayment. Gyp-Crete® looks like a "runny milkshake" during application, and dries to a hard, flat, thermal mass. This solid thermal mass enhances heating system responsiveness and seals perimeter walls, keeping out baseboard drafts, Gyp-Crete® eliminates squeaks and nail pops common to wood underlayments, and muffles a majority of sound transfer between levels. Almost any floor covering can be used directly over our product - tile, carpet, even real hardwood (2x2 or 2x4 wood sleepers are used for nailed down hardwood).
